Saw the guy on trackside with tab odds for last nights game, kiwis were $15 to win,$6.50 draw, had next to no funds in my tab account doh,and Italy $3.50 win,bet they made shitloads from folks backing Italy.

Or the guy who took $1.02 against Slovenia on tab at 89minute,he wagered $40,000 to win $800,and lost it,$800 not bad for 3-5minutes,but shows the risk factor.
Hello officer put it on my tab

An impressive achievement, but it highlights the flaws in soccer

NZ could have won that game if the Italian player hadn't fallen over when an All White touched his jersey, and much as I would love to see NZ win, the Italians are by far the better team. A stroke of luck, bullshit penalties or a goalies performance can decide the outcome, not which side is the better team.

And in the end it's a distinct likelihood that the team to go through to the next round could be decided by drawing a name from a hat because if there are teams with the same number of points (easy when a draw is so common), then it's decided by the goal differential, but with so few goals scored and draws so common, it's quite on the cards for NZ and Italy to have the same number of goals. Personally I think the biggest flaw in soccer is the low number of goals scored. If they doubled the size of the goal it would increase the number of goals getting through and make field play much more important.
Don't blame me, I voted Green.

Erm, if you're going to be THAT pedantic, then NZ's goal should have been disallowed because Shane Smeltz was offside...

It would still have been a draw though.

dunno bout that dude coz the whole game would have been different if the AWs goal was disallowed as the game wouldnt have recommenced from a halfway kickoff

I am just sick to fucking death of the bullshit, what pansy's
Even last night on the news they were showing little kids football, the kiddies even admitted to this hollywood bullshit if it meant it got them closer to winning!
What the fuck? Is this what we are teaching people? To win and get your way, you need to play dirty? How about winning from your ability and own accord

I actually think its amazing, incredbily skillful but fuck, drop the shit, its pathetic!

Wow, you make it sound like this is something new and exclusive to football? So you never noticed Rugby Union is rife with professional fouling? League with overspending? And _all_ sports pros, no matter what they like to tell you in the press, use drugs. "Clean" players and "clean" sports are just ones where they use drugs that aren't on banned lists, or (like motorsport) - don't test, don't find. There's careers and large amounts of money involved, this isn't some after work social match...

As far as I can see, he wasn't offside when the ball was kicked, and even if it did then come of Reid's head, it touched an Italian before Smeltz.

I just check the results and goal highlights package.

What Big Dave said... and I'm from a country who worships the bloody ground that soccer players walk on. Bloody overpaid Prima Donnas I say.

David Beckham can take his gear off though and redeem the whole sport in my eyes

So, is "that" why they call it the "beautiful" game? Well, it's begining to make sense to me now!
