Treat the situation with amusement, smile and nod at them knowing that you are a smarter person than they are. Its like being breath tested at the compulsory stop on a cold winters night. You all know the drill, remove gloves, other gloves, helmet pull down balaclava. Speak into breathalyser. By this time the chap behind you is already finished and it getting antsy. Put back on all said gear that takes longer as you have to fill all those pesky gaps that let the cold air in. By this time, said guy behind is almost irate and polite policeman has to ask him to calm down. Haha, it amused me though.

I prefer to let the cop stand there puzzling over how to get around my chin bar.

I did consider that for a moment but he was smart and asked for the helmet to be removed.

    Bad luck perhaps?

When I fill up my bike, I usually walk it to the front door parks if it's busy.
You wouldn't believe how many people almost give me their firstborns at such an act. Shitty world we live in for such a small gesture to seem tremendously selfless, no?
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

Like everyone else says, if that's their choice ignore them. Some people even expect you to push your bike out of the way when finished. That's a good one as well (like where, the service station is full).
I do that when the servo is full. No skin off my nose to move the bike and drop the irritation level of some motorist.
