    Helicoil Kit

Anyone know where i can buy one of these babies from? And what kinda of price is it? I hear the insert tool is quite expensive. Any other alternatives?

    Cheers

A bearing or engineering shop. Saeco is a good start, but so is Paykels near TSS & probably trademe. Tool comes with a few inserts. Yes expensive but always on the shelf & you're likely to need M6 & M8s probably 5s later in life. Any decent engine reconditioner will do the job for you at a cost.

Try Engineering Supplies in Petone also. They may seem expensive kits but, if used with care, are alot cheaper than the alternatives.

You can make a tool easy enough if you just want to buy the inserts..

A bolt/cap screw/random bit of round bar that fits into the heli insert with a hacksaw/grinder cutoff wheel slice in it will do.. At a fraction of the price.
