Racing Sunday that's even better, two nights on the piss in Greymouth, and a ride down to Haast return on the saturday.

...CAMS have been the motorcycle class at the Waimate 50 Car Racing event held on the streets of Waimate for many years. It has not been run for a while and they have chosen Labour Weekend as their time to run it again. It was.to run last year but was put back a year, it was scheduled for SOT weekend ,bad timing , never rains , only pours. If enough CAMS members wish to race there, we will support it. It should not affect numbers at Greymouth . The CAMS class will cover all of the CAMS classes and the day will probably be one practice and two rounds....

yup, there are only so many long weekends to run these sort of events. We had the opinion last year with the South Canterbury thing that there was no point in dwelling on it, just do something that benefits everyone. If race day scrutineering is the answer then we will certainly pursue it. I personally think its fantastic that we now have the Burt munroe, Nelson, Methven and now Waimate for the cams. The south island will be the street race capital of the world before long.

yes mate, i have a few rare 1990's 2 strokes among other things, its just a pity that most are non runners. will get them up and running one day when time and money allow. I got a bad habit of starting the next project before finishing the last one!

Ditch the RGVs and finish the fastest 250 proddy bike of all time and clean up the F3 class at Greymouth!!!

Mate, Id love to see a 250 2 stroke up front in F3 but there are a few boys out there on hot Sv650's and ZXR450's that would laugh at the prospect. Although Jock woodley likes to get amongst them on his rgv. I tried last year but was destined for out patients.

No good that out patients place mate, try to avoid the place if I can. Jock goes alright for an old fulla aye. Still I managed to keep him honest at Boxing day last year. The old 2 strokes don't quite seem to have the out of corner power required for a street circuit style corner. Are you having transponders at Greymouth this year?

Sadly no, we talk about it year after year but the cost is prohibitive. we got a few quotes last year and it worked out about $40 per machine, so $80 if you bring two bikes. We seed the first 2 rows best we can and it has worked real well. It seems that on our tight wee circuit that the cream always rises to the top anyway. Ive seen on two occasions a rider go from middle of the back row to win.

Yep I concur, we catch up the SS in the corners and then get passed again on the straights.
