Blah Bugger - nabbed doin' 91 in an 80 zone...

Well, I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later, and inevitably it happened today on my way home from work.

I refuse to use the Toll Tunnel so I took the usual route via Orewa and Wendaholm. I passed a few cages on the passing lane up the hill going slowish, rounded the bend and up over the brow of the Johnston Hill.

Just as I came over the Hill , yep, there he was, in all his glory, Mr Popo pointing towards me in Fowler Access Road.

I was allegedly doing 91 km per hour in the 80 km per hour section of road. 20 demerits and $80 thank you very much......
I now have 20 demerits lol.

I was a bit disappointed in myself, one should never speed, as ultimately the law always catches up sooner or later.

Do you have any idea how dangerous speeding is? People (babies mainly) could have been killed.

Yes indeed, that would be 20 trips to work and back, that would be 20 days worth, which would be 4 weeks worth. Food for thought, though even adding it up that way, paying $20 a week to use that tiny piece of road, it's all a bit absurd really isn't it.

    What a rip off.............

91's a bit harsh to get pulled up for

There's no number plate on the front of your bike. Couldn't another similar looking bike have overtaken you at such a speed and dissapearedd into the sunset whilst you were still only doing 79kph ?

If the weather wasn't as bad as it was, I most likely would have been going a bit quicker....... I didn't feel to high tail it, thought best to take it on the chin....... The officer had no hesitation in issuing the ticket. I did offer that he could let me off, he didn't seem amused, but had a wee smile on his dial........ As he would, they take great joy in their jobs lol....
