    Hi all (marie_speeds)

I'm Marie. New to this site but not to bikes, but am legally allowed to ride one now. Never bothered to have a licence before when in the countryside. Was told by my partners to get a hobby so this is it. I thought winding them up was a hobby but them's the breaks. Mostly here to look for advice to get thorugh my legal requirements faster if there is such a way????

Dirt bikes growing up. Now this is a serious question and requires a serious answer. Is that even possible on this site? LOL I want to go for a smaller rated bike, I'm not comfortable/confident with the 250 so what would you recommend as a better starter for road biking?

What about a road legal dirt bike or motard style for familiarity, considering your not new to them?

    Welcome!
What is it about your 250 that isn't working for you? Are you looking for something that is physically smaller, or something with a bit less power (or more gentle power delivery)?
As has been suggested, since you have been riding dirt bikes before, a dual purpose bike might be a bit more familiar, and give you more confidence. And air cooled single cylinder 250's have a pretty predictable power delivery, so things don't get too out of hand. Unless you want them to

Funny how you have come back down to earth now.....good for you.

People will give me shit for this - but GN125 was the best learner bike I have ridden. It quite easily gets over 100kph - very good simple handling, and you can drop it and nothing happens.

However if you want another sports bike - how about an RG150?
