HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!! Ok LS. But if we go to the "Frog" you and HWFM will have to travel at less than 10,000 rpm......... Definate destination possability!!!

The Summit Road will probably be wall to wall gritafter the snow which is forcast for this week..I love gritso weather permitting a run to the north is a viable alternative. Either Greta or Frog.

How bad is the road between Scargill and Waikari during the winter months............... Feed back please!!!!!!!!!!!! From someone who has ridden the road on a motorcycle recently!!!!!!!
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!

Speaking of rides, here's a clip of a recent adventure. While you lot were out riding on roads with your road bikes, some of us were out discovering why they invented roads in the first place ...

Note we didn't publicly advertise this last trailride which was deemed a trail ride rather than an adventure.
We would have posted a thread in the Adv forum but the ride was specifically for a few of the learners with us (two absolute beginners only been at it a few months and several returning riders) so were expecting a very slow moving group and didn't want it any bigger than it already was.
Next one however, well BRP and others have already put a hand up so I imagine business as usual.
Cynna, you looking for company on Saturday? Maybe a thread or post added in the Adventure forum?.. maybe revive an old thread... Northern Canterbury Adv Rideouts

I've been thinking it's time to take the 650 for a lap and also about ready to do a run out through Okains Bay etc. via shingle. Want to get in while the grounds damp before the dust rises again for Summer.

Very slow moving group, and quite a bit of stopped, the XL250 doesn't go so well lying on it's side.. There's certainly plenty of water about, some of the tracks were the river in places.

Weather forecast for sat is changing every time I check it, so I think I'll just look out the window and decide at departing time.

If you're heading north I'll pick you guys up at the motorway onramp off marshlands road and just tag on the back. If I'm there I'll join in, if I'm not then I'm either late and I'll catch up or I've wussed out.

Dyers Pass is fine, just a few old patches near the summit.. There has been no new gravel put down for weeks.

I'm keen for some ride round that area , prob be round the bays / old taitapu rd /gebbies . Like the idea of ale house ferry road is end point. Doesn't look like its going to be overly warm .

hasn't been frosts or snow for ages , so roads are pretty good apart from the odd patch of clay that has been washed out with the rain.
Stopped in at governors bay hotel during week , quite pricey and I thought little over rated ....anyone else stopped in there lately for meals? Good company thru.... and that was free
