Yep, it is a crap selling market. You gave your bike away at that price.

I have had one offer of $18k and that was as is without a lot of the extra stuff, spares, mufflers etc.

Like mine, it's going to be a sad parting, but I understand your reasons, sympathise with you and hope you get your price for it. I'm not prepared to give mine away either and personally if it doesn't sell, well, that's just too bad...

Your bike has to be the best in the country bar none!

Thanks mate. Yes in true Toaster style the bike is pretty damn awesome.... no muppet is walking away with that for a bargain. I put a lot into my bikes and always managed to get good prices for them once flicked on. Had a good offer so far and will see how things go.

    Catch up soon Ed....

Love to mate! By the way, did you derestrict yours? I posted a thread, "Don't they know they're restricted?" a video of top speed tests and it seemed a bit pointless, esp as the BMW 1000RR won it by about 2mph...

I see no point in restricting them from circa 320km/h to 300km/h. A tad pointless methinks! Same goes for de-restricting..... why bother? No place to try it out without a gross and stupid disregard for the safety of myself or others anyway!

Been to 250km/h on a track but ran out of the black stuff. It is a cruise missle plain and simple.... the best bike I have ever ridden by far (and I have ridden dozens over the years).

Yeah, it is rather pointless in the end. I'm against restricting on principle, I mean why make a vehicle capable of 320+ and then knobble it? If we were in Germany and on the unrestricted Autobahn, we'd be frustrated at not being able to reach top speed where it is safe to do so.

Over here, it's your right hand/foot that determines your speed according to the law and road/traffic conditions and there are precious few times and places where 200+ is safe, so derestricting is really only for the track, assuming there are tracks where 300 is possible?

Reality about those autobahns, they are getting so congesteds that the ability to speed at any reasonable rate of knots is getting nigh-on impossible.

I wish we had one.... but OSH would expect us to wear bubble wrap.

Yup! The latest Autocar mag has a feature on the Porsche GT2 RS and they had a go with a Ferrari 599 on the Autobahn, but had a bit of traffic. Top Gear had the same problem recently too.

That's the real issue, where is it safe to go fast these days? I reckon I could cruise most NZ roads at 160 quite safely but it's those "öther idiots" , eh? The great thing about the C50T is that it, and therefore I, am quite comfy and happy at the legal limit, but it's got a bit of get-up-and-go if required. A top speed of 170 is plenty fast enough.

Not long changed into second gear when passing thru 170 on the Busa.... on the track of course. There is no place to go fast safely. Safe is a relative term. If safe means NO risk of harm then no speed is safe. A lower speed is always going to improve your chances of less harm if you come off.

Ah yes it's all relative, the C50T might as well be a moped comparing it with the Busa, LOL!

And you're quite right, "safe" is relative and no speed can be absolutely safe and the faster you go the more bits and pieces you're likely to wind up in if you do crash.

After all, if I can break my back and nearly die at 45km/h in a Toyota Estima on an Auckland street, wearing my seatbelt and with the van in safe and legal condition...

OI! I heard that! If it wasn't written off and gone I'd accuse you of hurtin' its feelings!

I was actually surprised how good it was as a coach and business vehicle, and I'm very sad at its demise. Sorta the Corolla of vans really. They're everywhere. It survived the crash really well, but they had to chop it up to get me out, so no chance of it being repaired.

    Sorry Cam, off topic!
