Just Remember Guys what FNR started out as and what the focus was? to get people out riding and enjoy riding,Not to make people feel it was a race.....A short relxing ride after a weeks work to plan the weekends rides.... We are not all twenty year veterns... and its a great way for newbies to get a veterns advice, dont scare them off
THE STARTING POINT in the 1st post of this thread as below
Manawatu Friday Night Ride. (Be there or be in the square).
I've just had to give Dog's his Triumph back but we thought it would be a great idea to get people out for a cruisy easy short ride on a Thursday or Friday night and end up at a cafe for coffee and a chat
So, ideas and sugestions welcome, the basic idea being a short, no pressure ride around some of the great back roads round here.
All experience levels catered for, it would be great to see some of the newer riders out there and a great chance to pick up tips and hints from the more experienced.
Rides would probably be no more than an hour or so and be home before dark.
So get posting with your ideas guys, now's the time for those warm balmy evenings which are so good on the bikes
one tyre kicker asking for my phone number doh! its listed in the add..... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=316777967
all in good time
Yeah there's a lot of reasons why last seasons FNR's weren't as well patronized as the one previous, some of the above mentioned, also people couldn't be arsed getting their shit together on friday evenings, people had enough of it the previous season, shite weather, otherwise committed to other stuff and yes there were obviously people who felt pressure to ride quicker than they wanted too which is a shame but I don't know how many times it's been said, ride your own ride at your own pace etc... Whatever, a bit more organization might be in order if we get some bigger groups turning up, a bit of clarity as to where we are going etc.. Lead rider, tec, all that stuff needs to be looked at again. I must admit my enthusiasm had waned a bit by the end of last season, heres hoping for some decent weather and some good turn outs.
