    Air filter oil recommendations

Ok tried the search but nothing came up. What type of air filter oil does everyone use for there K&N DNA etc filter. Not sure I want to fork out for the genuine DNA oil.

Also need a brand of cleaner as well.

    Cheers

I just use the K&N kit (cleaner & oil) that you can get from Repco. I've got two vehicles with K&N's and one with Ducati Performance filter all of the same type. The kits last for ages and I don't recall them being outrageously expensive (about $40 or so from memory). The K&N part number is 99-5000.

    As cs363 suggests.

Kit last ages and is designed for cotton gauze filters.

I use to do it about 10,000km which is probably overkill. I think recommended is 20,000km or something like that.

K&N recommend 50,000 MILES.Most people either don't oil them,or wash them too frequently.A K&N filter has to be absolutely filthy, with a thick layer of dirt to give any filtration....otherwise they are only as good as panty hose crutch. You can wash them with any water based cleaner, but the cleaner kit is probably the way to go.
