Guides like Frosty has put up in the past, on what has to be wired tight, like sump plugs etc, and what can't be used in your radiators etc are most informative for us "wannabes" putting machines together as the budget allows.

Hell, I wouldn't even know what MNZ was or what it stands for if not for KB.

Agreed...some of us mere mortals who haven't been around racing have found bits 'n pieces of info on KB bloody helpful.
Would be a pity if the 'potentials' missed out on what could be an even more valuable resource.

    calm

Nobody is closing down KB FFS?!? This forum is going to continue as per normal...with all the BS and good shit. Shall we ban any other motorcycling site based in NZ then?

KB is what it is...kiwiracer.co.nz was created because some of us involved heavily in the game needed more than KB...its not an "us or them" mentality, its a tool that we thought would be useful to grow the sport...be happy that we are actually trying to do something positive for racing in NZ!

yeah and in my day a forum was what you had in the glove-box for passing a round on the trip home from the track, usually via the awahuri

That sort of statement is counter productive there Mr Quasi.

I have learned that forums are another world when it comes to diplomacy and so on, but the idea of excluding the public seems also counterproductive to me (it would seem others as well)

The world has moved on since Shaun Harris fibbed his way onto a test ride of a 250gp in Japan.... (crashing some 3 laps later if I remember correctly) and now the resources exist for anyone, anywhere, any time to check any number of facts, and to remove the ability for the general public to keep up to date with not only rule changes, but also proposals from riders is a step backwards.

I was dismayed when Shaun posted something about "Johnny no names" contributing to forums about racing matters.... WTF?...... Come on guys, I struggle to accept that you cannot realise that the "Johnny no names" are the guys we need to enourage to come to the events, as paying spectators, bringing their kids (who see the racing, and aspire to be one themselves......)

Is it is such a basic phylosophy that we are missing it?

The world has changed, and it would be wise to use it to your advantage, otherwise you have a chance of having a great organized race structure, but no one wants to come see your conceited asses.

    Thanks for the advise SS90

Some of the flavors thrown at us in this thread are kind of remarkable.

We are happy how we have set up the site so far as are the 100 + members, we may change it, we may not.

And if I see you pricks all together at the pub discussing racing without me then look out. FFS, what's the difference, fack they could discuss things by email without "us" (non racers) and we'd be none the wiser, the forum just makes it easier...

SS90, the point I was trying to make about " Johnie NO names" was/is, all thoughts/idea's need to be coalated to help create and manage the rules for racing, how do you/we/us do this for free in a professional manner?

As far as the RACERS ONLY forum goes on kiwibiker, I wanted it be for RACERS only, NO buisness names, No false names, why, so all could be managed and made accountable for what they have said. I have also asked for that Forum to be opened up, so that anyone can read it, but NOT post in it unless you hold a race license, so the future want to be racers can see what the current crop think and are dealing with within our sport.

So there is NO hidden agenda to what has been started over there, it seems to me that a couple of people have put there money where there mouth is, and are genuinely trying to do some thing with our racing, just read through the VIC club WET series thread on here and see what has been said, it really is not fear nor ethical a lot of stuff that gets posted by " JOHNIE NO NAMES"

Yes I am a loud outspoken person, but anyone the knows me genuinely, knows there is no one with any more passion/commitment to our sport alive on earth, and if that comes across as a big head, so be it, as I am only little, and need to make myself feal big some times
