where do you live i could do with a nice flash sports bike
you insured for that ?
or if you try riding off before I get there i may just have to knock you off (I have no insurance and am on the dole )
you insured for that
give you $5 a week to pay the damages off
my sister has a very expensive car and has a habit of cutting bikes off and stoping infrount of them
you fail to follow with enough room to stop short then you will have to pay for the damage to her car
hope you are insured for that
now about your safe and crash free riding
did you notice that loose gravel around the fast lefthander ?
or the diesil from a burst petrol tank on a truck as you went around that last corner ?
if you have spend good money on your bike protect the invetment with a little insurance
good luck and have fun

Have to agree with Buckets4Hire here.
Insurance is to protect YOUR investment, not to help some other asshole. For this reason, it's 1st party or nothing for me.
Like B4H said, if some south auckland-dole budging douche hits your bike and completely totals it, and the police find him at fault, and you go to small claims and win all costs (how much is your bike worth? Like 6 grand at least?), then he will say "oh bro I got no money can we set up a payment plan?" and Small claims court will order him to pay you back at $5 a week until the full amount is paid off. That's 6 years before you see your $6000 back.
THIS is why you have insurance. Not because of the age old "Oh man what if I bump into a Ferrari?". Fuck off. How many Ferraris have you seen driving around? And out of that, what are the odds that you will have a crash? And out of that, what are the odds that it will be your fault? And out of that, what are the odds that it will be an expensive euro or late model jappa?

There are two types of people in the world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data sets
Only if there's a witness, otherwise you hit them from behind and it's your fault.
I'm insured with AA insurance, about $35 a month from memory for full insurance, and because I have so much other stuff insured with them they even gave me a no claim discount and covered a Ducati which is on their we never insure them list.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

The other thing about uninsured drivers is they push premiums up for the people who are responsible. Be nice, I couldn't even buy a dozen beers for what it costs me to insure my bike per month.
Costs me $12 a month to insure my 250 Bandit fully comp on a Learner's. Bike's not worth as much tho and I am 31.
i pay $21 a fortnight with state for full cover. An old asian guy backed into my bike a month ago, about 5g of damage aparently? didnt take them too long to make a decision (maybe a week) and got my bike back a couple days ago. Had to pay the excess, still waiting to have it refunded. Not that im complaining, stoked as to have my bike back, looking better than it did before the accident. Bonus
it's hard to say it's not your fult when you failed to stop short
you are in the wrong if you hit someone from behind (trust me I know) and then you would have to prove that it was the other driver at fault (and my sister will never admit she cant drive )
no the cops cant pick a liar. they take the most likely story. It's more likely that you where following to close to stop or speeding (who would stop in the middle of a motorway and even if they did you should be traveling so that if something is there you can stop in time)

A lot of 3rd party insurance has a clause which will pay you for being damaged by an uninsured driver for up to 2-3k and go after them for you.
Also I know someone paying off 7k damage $20/week for damaging an audi![]()
