Umm- can I just say quietly that all that footage was shot just up the road from my house and the riders that they intervieiwed were 'industry representitives' there to hand out the leaflets and do the PR...
Retired- just some guy with a few bikes......

I'm 42, started riding on our farm when i was young and been riding ever since.
You name it and I've probably riden it.
I know my limits and I maintain my bike
How does this make me a bad rider?
Yes I wear black leather and have a very loud bike but still got nothing to do with the way I ride.

just read the article, and they've taken the 16x out of context, 16x is calculated on a per km basis (and fatal or injury causing crash), 'motorcyclists' implies per person/vehicle which is in fact around 3-4x. Bikers do less kms on average than other road users accounts for this change.

At least they got a potential "taker of inocents" off the road and charged him with DIC.

For the record, I dont drive drunk, I am not disqualified, I dont take drugs, I am fully licenced, my vehicles are wof, and amazingly enough registered as well.

Where do they get off stopping me just because I ride a motorcycle? If I am not speeding, and am not behaving in a way that brings me to the attention of plod, why stop me?
but if people treated the road like a road and not a race track then mr plod and mr acc would have no reason to target bikers but untill that happens we will all be targeted for what the minority do on the roads.

Ah - I wondered the same - then it came to me, and they were actually very cunning.

Did you notice that they were pulling over the two wheeled death traps onto a unsealed dirt shoulder?
If you were not an experienced rider most likely you would have fallen off in the slippery stuff and then received practical and useful advise on how to ride safely.

About time they put some time and money into:
    Fixing roads
Teaching car drivers to pull over and let us go past asap
Sign posting road works properly would be nice also.

Is it not bad enough these days that you cant go over to the okoroire with out passing at least two cops eachway.

Hope there not doing roadside nosie checks or I'll have to put some gay stock pipes back on.

    Loud is best I say.
Heh! Know what you mean by the Oko ride up and over.
No stress though if you're doing nothing wrong though eh?

So to what extent do I have to co-operate if stopped by our jack booted friends for no reason other than I dare ride the Coro loop?

I know they've got 15 minutes to waste my time.
I know I must do the following:-
    • Hand over my license
    • Let them check my rego/wof.
    • Give them my name, address & DOB.
    • Give them vehicle ownership info.
    • Hand over my keys if requested.

Can they move my bike if it's not in a hazardous location?
Can they start my bike engine?
Can they inspect parts of the bike not visible (i.e. remove panels etc)?
If requested to I have to allow them to photograph me?

Do I have to assist them with any of the above?
Can I photograph/video the officers involved?
Wonder what would happen if they damaged the bike?

the coro loop is the best roads in nz.........
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
