Yeah I had that when I tried it.
But somethings you just want to search......not have the keywords combine and give you the first site on the list......
or even worse - the site with that URL name.

so instead you have to go "s pawn takes king" and if you forget your gonna be sorry.

What about the skin - can ya change it yet? Like I said before Smashing Pumpkins didn't sing "Shake down to 1995, cool kids never have the time"

    Are you talking about chrome?

Anything typed into the address bar that is not an address goes straight to google with that search query. The only thing that is a pain is when you actually want to search an address not actually go to it. But even then its easy enough to do.

Chrome is awesome. Firefox is ass. Opera is even worse.

But hey each to their own!

Conclusion : put firefox on everyone's client setup. I have no idea who gave him that idea after 2 weeks of fucking around
Heh, that's your own fault for installing a beta and expecting it to be flawless. Had a couple issues with the JS engine not running functions but otherwise it's actually pretty quick and very clean, rather enjoying it.

Do occasionally have to fire up Firefox if I need something JSey and it just refuses to run it, but that'll all be ironed out on release as they've rebuilt their JS engine from scratch.

Overall it's the first time I've ever said anything good about IE, and in the process of migrating to it. Reckon it will be permanent once it actually releases.

Does it not do the I'm feeling lucky thing sometimes that firefox does? I quite like having the go to what is most relevant in the URL bar on FF then the normal google search on the right

That IS seriously cool. I thought I'd give it a go on Safari first and they didn't play nice. I can see why they warn it's intensive.

    w honda
will go straight to the honda wikipedia page, on my setup, right click any search text and you can add you own
also it shows transfered data/rate etc for each page, and all round awesomness is also good.
Plus the inbuilt mail client with such a good search function you don't need filters or folders

    What an improvement.

I really like the architectural differences in Chrome. First, each tab runs in a separate process space. So a flash app going slow in one tab does not slow down any other tab. Or if a flash app is running slow in one tab the other tabs continue to run at full speed.

Chrome has a "Task Manager" so we can see how much resources each tab on your browser is using (effectively, how much resources every web site consumes).

And it is nice and fast!

If you haven't tried Chrome yet I'd say it is well worth a try.
and have you tried the "inspect element"option on the right click drop down?lots of resources in there including the option to save all the unsaveable bits of any web page.neat and verry useful

I'm sure you are right about Chrome but personally, having just used it on my kids pc, I can't see the attraction. I was devoted to Opera for a long time and then switched to Firefox (for the extensions) about 5 years ago. Its taken a long time to sniff out the add-ons which work for me and I'm damned if I'm going to a new browser and start all over again.
