What's the Yamaha version of the SV1000s?

As your coming off a Hyosung 250, I'd recommend riding lessons at a trackday before taking on a R1 or similar as you'll wind up as an organ donor or hood ornament before long!

The Hyobag is an unresponsive pig when it comes to throttle difference.

The R1 would make a better commuter than the SV1000.

Have you riiden an MT01? Big balls? I seriously doubt it. A friend chucked me the keys at a BBQ one night and I have to say it was the most uninspiring bike I've ever ridden. Boring boring boring.

How about a SV400? Or Ducati Monster 400?

Yamaha equiv (that wont make squidmeat) would probably be one of the following:
XTX660
SRX6 or SRX4
That 660 sport single (can't remember name or model)

The problem with the 600cc bikes from what I've been reading is you need to keep them high up in the rev range which is why I mentioned the sv1000s in my first post.

Hornet's a 4 cyl bro, same as the Fazer 6.

People making judgements on what you should and shouldn't be riding without knowing you are a bit off in my own oppinion. I know plenty of people who have stepped straight from a 250 to a big bore sports bike with no dramas what so ever. It's all about attitude and what you're comfortable and confident riding.

Definitely a falacy. A ZX6R is twice the commuter (twice the all round bike actually) that an SV1k is.

Look at the XJ6, only read good things about it, FZ8 too. Take em out for a ride, best way I reckon, go with what takes ya fancy and what you find managable.

Another good bike is the Kawasaki ER6 series, have ridden a ER6-N, went well.

The Yamaha is as ugly as the Suzuki. Get a Bandit. Much better bike!

Buy a fuel injected SV650, put an Ohlins shock in it, emulators, and in a while a PC3 and can, some decent sticky tyres, and have at it.

You would be on the road for round 8 grand, and you would learn to ride. Plus its not going to highside you and drill you into the scenery like a lawndart.
