I also have short arse syndrome. I have ended up on a Suzuki GSX1200y, as they are a bike designed for the Japanese market (much like the SG350), and as such have a very low seat height. I can flat foot it easily at 5'4" (with short legs) and my little sister who is around 5' (but similar leg length to me) also doesn't have any problems with it.

Well that seat height is taller than what I have now, so the length of my arms is immaterail really

That is a nice looking bike, pity you live so far away, I would love to have a sit on it.

That's the model YT mentioned. Yum!! And perfect for anyone that is short, wants power and upright without cruiser/forward controls

But the seat is narrowish. I agree, though, the bike is long and you'd be stretching to reach ground and bars.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I just had a look at a comparison and it says the seat of the Suzuki is 795mm.
Interesting that the Suzuki is only 13KGs heavier than the Radian, and if you can get bigger foot print on the ground, that difference is nothing.
Would still be worth a look though, nice look bike for sure.

The width and shape of the seat is as important as the height when it comes to touching the ground. I have also tried out a Yamaha SZR660 which was not a particularly tall bike either (775mm seat height, but narrow as it is a single).

Also, here is a list of bikes for short riders: http://www.vtwinmama.com/motorcycles...ort_riders.htm

Took one for a ride, nice low bike but pretty gutless and handled like a whale. Might be able to sort out the handling by putting on good tires and getting the pressure sorted.

70 odd horsepower, parallel twin (so nice around town), top speed around 220 km/h (so nice on the motorway), and apparently handles pretty well and is good fun to ride. That said, they only came out in about 2007 so you won't find an old one dirt cheap, you'd be looking at around $7000...

    I have a 2008 mag that states the ER6n seat at 785mm

Hey Anne, you are more than welcome to come sit on mine

Trumpy has been dropped say 38-40mm from 815mm weight is a hefty 188kgs (shorter link, and dropping front forks)

I test rode the Monster 696+ a few months back, and would take that over the ER6n any day. Sexier for sure and just as easy if not easier to ride ...lighter of course too.

    Monster 696+
Didn't even need adjusting to shortarse mode
    • 770 mm seat height.

    • 161.0 kg

    ER6n
    • 785 mm seat height, but as you know fully adjustable to shortarse mode - with a bit of money spent.

    • 174.0 kg dry

But...the trumpy is sexiness personified and there is nothing better than having that between your legs
No body move... I dropped my brain

Are you looking at new? How much dosh do you want to put into it?

The other option is to lower the suspension at both ends to keep the same rake / trail. Front via raising the forks in the triples. Rear via longer linkage / shorter dog bones or shorter shock.

you of course may reduce the amount of front fork travel available (with normal forks), but it may be another way to reduce 10-20mm as well as a reshaped seat. That would open up a few more options.

I'll measure my SV650 tonight. I've put a GSXR1000 shock in the rear which has lowered it slightly.
