Sigh. Someone joins the forum in hope of gaining further understanding of his bike, and more importantly how he can get more power, and all you guys can do is take the piss. No wonder motorcycling is dying before our very eyes, what with you lot not remembering what it was like to be 16 and ride a powerful bike for the first time.

So, ignore all the comments about Shervin, Nos, replacement powerbands etc, they are all just pulling your leg.

Now I'm no two stroke expert, but it sounds like this mighty 80cc beast already has been fettled somewhat, especially how it flipped your uncle, who lets not forget is a professional, and weighs 523. So with that in mind, I'd suggest you check the duration and lift of both the inlet and exhaust cams. Also degreeing the cams in is important, so don't forget that. Next would be checking the apex seals on the rotor. Are these carbon replacements or the factory ones? Once again, find out, you'll get a lot more power if they are carbon. Next to check would be how many windings there on the aperture. The more the better.

If you want to get really serious, look at reversing your cylinder. The factories all got in wrong back in the day (translation issue) and put the cylinders on in reverse. It's not an easy job, but there are huge gains to be made by correcting this. Think about it, exhaust at the back, inlet at the front.

There is a lot more that you can do of course, but these should be your starting points for a good base to big power. Let me know how you get on and if needed I could possibly recommend some more mods.

Yeah, you're right. And I've already forgotten how frustrating I found that when I first joined KB. Ya sure develop a thick skin quickly round these parts!

Oh, and OAB - my son asks everytime he sees a post by you, is that YOUR bike in the bed? And, did your mum get mad?

Rip the brakes off for a bit of weight reduction. It will go way harder then.

Another often overlooked mod that is perhaps the quickest, cheapest and most "instant gratification" thing you can do to enhance the size of a bikes balls is to swap the sprockets over. Take the front & mount it on the rear wheel & vice-versa.

If your uncle really does weigh 523, like you say, I'd hazard to guess the sprocket-swap may have already been done on your bike.

    There is some pretty expensive mods described here but you could try the less expensive modest performance enhancing mods such as;

Replace the air in the tyres for helium, you have spoked wheels so you will have to remove the tyres first and cover the spoke adjusters with black duct tape (caution here don't use the grey, the pigment in the grey tape reacts with the helium. Many have come unstuck here excuse the pun). replace the tyres and re-inflate with the helium (obtainable from balloon shops). The more you put in the lighter the bike becomes and the faster it will go

Next; being a two stroke it will have transfer ports in the barrel (these transfer the fuel from the bottom of the engine to the top) usually one or two transfer ports are in low tune motors. A simple afternoons work with a dremel will add more (the more you add the more fuel will transfer, the more power the engine will make and the faster it will go. Before you do this pop your barrel into any motorbike shop and a service technician will happily show you where to make new transfer ports free of charge.

You will now have a much more powerful and lightweight bike so you need to look at the brakes. They will get hot hauling this beast down from the higher speed so will need cooling, The cables will expand as they get hot requiring more movement in the linkage for the same braking effort. Remove the inner wire and paint it with heat resistant paint used for exhausts and BBQ's and replace it when dry this will allow the heat to disperse more efficiently.

These few simple mods will take half a day to do and cost just a few dollars.

Helium??!! I'd recommend Nitrogen - It's a well known performance enhancer. I can supply tyre gas with 78% Nitrogen for only $5 per tyre. It's awesome!

    I like this guy,
just remember, check everthing twice, walk away, have a bear, scratch ya balls then check it again,
the beer that is, ensue its empty.
Always on race day when your checking the bike before a race,
Don't get distracted by the pussy walking by, you might tighten the wrong knobb

Sorry Steve your quite right it does improve performance further.
However if cost wasn't a consideration I would fill the tyres with Iridium for its handling characteristics. The last quote I had was $30 a tyre!

....all that info should just about be enough to make them serious balls into some super serious series size balls...let us know how you go with this shit matrixzone5 dude...watch that iridium shit...too much exposure sometimes ends up with super sensitive balls...
