As someone not from the area, I'm taking what the locals have said to be correct.
If so, what sort of Boofhead exceeds the speed limit by that much,at that time on a road where any number of vehicles could simply pull out in front of him and be cut in half.
I hope you fools in this thread have had enough fun, time to count the cost.
What if he'd hit the school bus with your kids in it?
Yesterday wasn't enough for you guys aye, a guy dies on a Race Track , the safest place he could be to exceed the normal road speed limit and today your'/e all congratulating an unknown FOOL on a bike who could have killed many others.
Not Impressed and not for a moment going to say anything nice about an IDIOT who thinks this is fun.
Every day above ground is a good day!:

Yesterday wasnt enough???? How the fuck can you compare someone participating at a track day and dying in unfortunate accident with someone speeding on the road.... that had nothing to do with this and you know it!
Also there is time and place for speed ... and its race track (and quiet back road perhaps).

Going that fast on a public road...suicide or murder?

Glad neither was the case but hell, if the rider keeps up with that behaviour it won't be long. Carnage and a few thousand dollars for hospital fees (if rider survives).

    The rider has something missing!

Then one reads Scummies thread, another speedie but with a different ending.

The rider in question is propably having a right big laugh for his two seconds of infamy.

Unfortunately he got away with it,next time will he?and if so next time etc.If going through Normanby with the school by the main road he is asking for trouble, and if he is local I hope you get a friggin smack in the head from mates,or at least his mates tell him to pull his ego in.

Yep we all like to go fast at times, but not on a highway as busy as SH3,along numerous backroads in area with little traffic or schools etc.

I guess so. Most runners end up crashing, very few get away. One must question their IQ level. Heard of a T-shirt that read, "I had an IQ test. The results were negative!"

whose to say the law hasn't put out a press release to this effect cause they feel lonely, time we had videos in all the cop cars to keep a better eye on things. This would have a better understanding of their chase procedures too...

Am I misreading the article? I can see no reference to the rider being a him or a her (pretty safe to assume it is one or the other though).
read the last line of the article.

if that is the speeds this person do on a regular basis he will be caught one way or another I hope it is just by the cops but it may just be by someones front bumper as they pull out of a side road as they have misjudged this persons speed. I truely don't wish that on anyone but you have to wonder what goes through some peoples heads.

Probably someone with a Busa who had a miss near red line in 3rd gear since fitting a TRE! The mechanic took it up the road to check?

+1, I can understand the urge to go fast (not on my bike though, 0-60 in five minutes flat) that people have, and I had a lead foot in my V12, but this is insanity. I would hate to think people could go that fast past my kids school .

Genie, I fear it he come off it could end in murder...

Nowhere has it been mentioned or insinuated that this was anywhere near or likely to have been conducted past a school, lets try not to over react people...anyone would think you lot were running the nanny state. 236 isn't the land speed record, plenty of you I'm sure have had moments of madness outside of the MereMere drag strip so don't be so quick to get all whingey
