what about a holden,

Me being a holden man and all,
Our last car was a 5L Fairmont gear,way better spec'd than an equivilent Holden and cheaper...still too heavy on the gas for an around town car.
I just can't help myself driving a V8..they're made to do skids.........oh an the litre's per 100k's guage in a Fairmont only goes to 99.9......

Won't be buying another holden untill we can afford a late model Clubby.....

So not that economical then? My mate's E55 AMG with tweaked supercharged 5lt gets the same litres per kilometer that my bike gets per 100km/h when he's got his foot down... Mind you 700+NM and 500hp does get you anywhere in good time...

Looking at em aswell, bloody nice cars for the money..
What sort of mileage do you get out of a tank?.Have you worked out the KPL?

The V40 is a pleasant vehicle to travel in - step out feeling as refreshed as when you start

They have a 60l tank. One tank got me Auckland to Kapiti - and I wasnt being overly gentle.

Got my wife a 2002 Passat 2.8lt 4motion, great car that has been trouble free for the now 3 years we have owned it. No cambelt, this engine has a cam chain.

We both drive Euro's now (I have an audi) and have definitely been converted. Build quality is completely unmatched by any of the Jappa, amercian or aussie cars.

I have an S4, similar in a straight line to say a Holden SS, but hit the corners and it will smoke it, when it comes to stopping, it would smoke it. And after 200,000 kms it will look twice as good.
Passat is now at 120,000kms or so and still drives like a nearly new car.

You have to make sure with Euros that servicing is regular and done completely and they will be bullet proof and trouble free. If you don't then you get issues.

The Audi S4 motor is amazingly strong and will last forever...as long as the oil is changed with the correct spec oil every 15,000kms. If you don't?? Engine bearing goes, new motor = $35,000.

Would happily buy the passat again, worth only about $15k now, but one helluva lot of car for $15k.
