As an ex-journo ... "collided with" is used as the phrase implies no blame ... yes, I know in this context the active party is the bike rider .... that's because they start edthe sentence with the cop falling off ... poor writing ..

In the case you ask it would be "car collides with motorcycle ..." As in also used "car collides with tree ..." (the tree's never gonna be at fault ... )

I was late to a meeting because of this incident.

Why close the motorway down to 2 lanes for such a time for such a minor incident?

Just drag the bike off the road like everyone else does (without help).

I saw the cop bike on the back of the pickup. Didn't appear to be a writeoff.

    Glad the fellow biker's OK.

Tell that to a tree near Clevedon that is now a stump, with a big white wooden guard rail in front of it, because a car crashed into it a while ago, killing a child.

Potentially an OSH/DoL issue, as the cops job is to be on the road, plus he's a cop etc.

Some of you must be on your fucken periods, the poor fella comes off, with no more details, still a biker going sliding down the road, I don't care what his job is (although they always seem surprised when I wave to them).

To be fair - it is hard to ride a motorcycle while eating donuts!

Regardless of what happened or how I do hope he is OK - cop or not he is still a fellow biker.

I hope ACC payments for this chap come out of the correct account rather than the motor pool a/c.

    Are OSH involved yet?

All joking aside, I hope the guy is ok.
If you open the attached article, and blow it up so that you can read it you will find that this is probably considered a motor vehicle accident. I posted the attachments earlier in one of the ACC levy threads, A Motor vehicle accident has to meet very strict criteria to be considered a work place accident. The Article is taken from a union magazine.

Like you, I hope the rider is ok.

A car didn't crash into it. A car is an inanimate object. A person drove the car into the tree, killing a child.
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

Probably to make sure he isn't lying and trying to blame another motorist - coz that happened - once - I hear.....

That'll learn the tree - I bet it doesn't kill a kiddie again...

You don't get much more "on the road" than that...

Some of you must be on your fucken periods, the poor fella comes off, with no more details, still a biker going sliding down the road, I don't care what his job is (although they always seem surprised when I wave to them).
Most wave down these parts - truckies, bikes and even some pedestrians and cars. And all fingers are extended.... mostly....
