Thanks,as you say he has probably just carried on then,we are betting the west coast as he loves riding over there and has some mates in Westport that combined with some bottles of Tequila in his bags and the fact he hasnt been away on his bike for some time could be the answer though the thing is as Vicky says he always rings home to let her know where he is headed. She is trying to get hold of someone over there to see if hes been there.

Vicky asked me to ask if Shrek was at the rally as the pair of them get on pretty well and hes often called in and the odd time stayed the night when heading south, shes thinking he might have decided to head over that way for a ride.

Great :scooter to the rally. Left Alexandra with Shrek and we parted company at Cromwell. Rode the rest of the way on my own with a little stop at Omarama for fuel and food then on the rest of the way (petrol station to petrol station) with nice weather and no hassles.
Got to the site in time to set up tent and had just finished putting in the last peg when Shrek arrived, I was camped in the wrong swamp (silly me not knowing which two trees will bear the weight of the hammock) Tent was promptly picked up by my knight in shining armour and deposited in the correct spot
Met lots of people and had a good time even though the weather was a little damp.
Went into Ashvegas on Sat morning and had Breakfast/lunch on the way back at the checkered flag.
Rode home today and stopped at lake Opua for lunch dasy and great riding then just as we packed up the lunch the rain came down. I didn't melt but after that the wind picked up and the rest of the ride home was slow .... in some cases I couldn't get over 70kms. very tiring indeed. Even so got home safe and sound if not a little By far the longest ride I have done on the Hobbit bike. I still think it should have won in the bike show.... but I am a little biased.
Next rally... the K B in a few weeks.... see you there
