Was some loose shingle 1/2 way up the diamond harbour side of the hill to port levy couple of months ago - may have now been sweep clean. For those that have never ridden back from port levy back to diamond harbour - its worth doing - neat corners !

IMOO - The only road bike I'd be taken from Port Levy to Little River is - one I didn't care about. Single track in most parts, tight corners, braking ruts on corners, and Very steep coming down into little river.
that shingle is there year round, it comes off the hill.

Eccleces (apologies for the spelling) and myself came over from Lyttleton through Evans, I do have to say the road looks so much better, no grit (as of today) and was a nice smooth ride!!

Was awesome! Got soaked on the way down but tent was already pitched (thanks EccelesNZ for that) so got there, dumped my gear, got changed, got myself a couple of drinks then headed away for dinner in a nice toasty warm house. Had an awesome feed then back to the site as the rain stopped to see a few well drenched folk!

    Ride on Sunday was fantastic!

I went for a ride yesterday around banks (dyers, gebbies, diamond harbour, port levy, little river, pigeon bay and back) and the sealed roads were mostly free of grit except outside of some corners and the usual bits of rock that fall off the sides of the road. It seems like the sweepers have been through and cleared away the majority of grit.

Didn't take my camera, what happens at a rally stays at the rally! The weather was crap, the rain made it a slow ride for me although the wee bike done good! My leather gloves are now just about dried off, ust in time for tomorrow nights ride!

Good that you got out though, you still haven't found your way over here yet!??

I don't know where your house is Flip so I'll just toot like mad once we reach Diamond Harbour and hopefully one of your neighbours will get so pissed off you'll notice them yelling at me, you'd know where we were then!

I actually have no idea where we're going this week, too many ideas being thrown around for my poor tired brain!
