Well. My other half often has delusional ideas about buying Shit He Doesn't Need. I equally make extremely uninformed decisions about Really Expensive Shit like motorbikes. Then we go buy that shit and bitch about it to each other.
So in sum, I suggest you buy whatever the hell you want. It's your money.
...as an afterthought, does it occur to anyone that there's a pretty good chance he's on KB? Be very afraid, young men of [insert locality] who own a scorpio...
As you have worded the situation, it sounds like a little respect and tolerance is lacking on his side of the relationship...
27 years happy married life is only acheivable if there is mutual trust and respect and a good degree of tolerance.
I am MOTGMOTT...my wife is ATGATT...But if I want to enjoy MC travels with my wife, then it is in both of our interest that she feels as comfortable and and as safe as she can, which means not skimping on gear or critisizing her ATGATT approach.
Now she is relaxed on the bike, enjoys our travels which means we enjoy our travels. Which in turn means we have lots of mutual experiences which is a key to another key to lasting relations.
If a relationship begins or develops into disagrements, oneupmanship, bullishness, diffeing opinions that lead to arguments....then in my honest opinion, things do not bode well for the long term...
And as the earlier posts point out, there are no shortage of young blokes having the hots for biker chicks...

In his words - "I didn't want you to feel like I did - and I really don't want you to get hurt." Basically, sudden realisation and overreaction.
It helped that other boyfriend was being cool about the whole thing (was a bit worried, but was sure that I'd be a good careful rider, also reassured by ATGATT).
Both certainly have the message now that I'm going to ride and have a bike. Nice form-fitting leathers may assist in their getting used to the idea.Perhaps that should be first on the list of stuff, after helmet of course...
So all's well that ends well, I think.

You've got two boyfriends, that's just greedy. do they both know about the other one??? change of subject kind of but hell, that just seems wrong! you've got two and I haven't even got one...though I'm damn fussy!
.....sounds like you need a bike with a sidechair.....
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!
'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '
So he is worried bout you crashing and hurting yourself because he has crashed and hurt himself. Yet he still rides/owns a bike? Cop out much?
Time for an upgrade. And I don't mean bike wise.
Though I see you have two. What the hell? lol
@Genie - Yeah, they both know about each other, they get on really well (and have been known to gang up on me at times). Just a matter of luck (finding them), and the belief that honesty and communication can make any relationship work. Check out polyamory. And hey, being fussy isn't a bad thing; I didn't have a boyfriend for a couple of years before I found one-then-two of them.
@CAMSec - Or we could all get bikes...
@Reckless - Long-distance? :P

Fuck this is a funny thread! Love to hear the other side of the story too tho!
So in the original thread, the boyfriend who's bike you ride and the boyfriend who is unhappy about you riding are the same boyfriend?
