How do I get into racing?

How do I get into racing? Where do I start? I need to take some of my certain riding "energy" off the road to the track.

start by doing some have ago days, and other track days... then join a club that is affiliated with MNZ for your race licensse etc...

depends how far you want to take it...

Go onto the Vic Club website: www.vicclub.co.nz and its on there Under Racing: "Getting Started", it tells you all about what you need to do and know about getting into Racing.
It will be great to have another Racer out there.
Goodluck with it all and see you out there sometime.

Good call, mate, most who do love it too much to look back

    Technically...

Join a club: www.amcc.org.nz, download a membership form and get it in

Get an MNZ race licence: www.mnz.co.nz, go to information -> licence information

Wire the sump plug and oil filter on your bike, take out the coolant and put race stuff in

Get full leathers, boots, gloves and an approved helmet

Then you’re pretty much ready to go

What bike you get in to it on depends on your level and financial backing, but starting cheap and slow is a good call. Getting some confidence and consistency up on track days is wise, too.

If you’re at a race meet in future and want to have a chat about it, come find #158 R6 and I’d be happy to discuss with you, as would most racers I know (just try not to get us right before a race )

Tri-Series at Hampton this Saturday will be awesome so head along if you can

Seems I am to poor... ( Well at the moment now anyway ) Oh well just another pipe dream I guess.....

But here is my training method till I save up. Like that Africa who swam in the Nial river to train for the Olympics.

I might try find a piece of road that no cars use and claim it as my own.

I can't really afford coaches and track days. But... I know a guy from India who was famous in his village for racing the India bullets. This guy is insanely good in traffic he can pass up the side of cars at 120kphr when they almost at a stand still with a few cms between them.

I am sure he can teach me a few things.

You just plain wont find an easier or more affordable way to get started roadracing than our "Just add rider" scheme as is currently being promoted by both MNZ and NZSBK,You have my details,Contact me when your serious

whats cheaper bro, some gear and a track days or fines and possibly wrecking a life. find some cheap leathers, boots. the gear i used for my first season cost me about $450 total at the max.
