so gidday, so far so good, me looking at leaving here extremly bright and early Sat morn. may make it for the lunch thing. but do have 15kg of sausages for the gig. so as long as there is somthing to cook on and some oil etc, (30/40 would be fine) then we will be cooking up a snack to help through the evening.

    Rock on party people.

Well if its Owaka then I may need a spot saved at the table.

Like GB im leaving at the crack of dawn and will try to be down in time for lunch.

Fortrose is an extra hour away and Im not really keen to leave THAT early.

Not much choice really, but Kaka Point Tavern could also be a lunch meal stop instead of Owaka on the round trip.
What foodie options are there at Owaka?
No matter what, the Saturday ride will be a roundabout part repeat ride. Just the nature of the remoteness of Tautuku, eh.

Ok I see, so Owaka is the likely place, mmm for some reason miSTa was pointing towards the bottom... at Fortrose.
Owaka sure would be closer to strike earlier in the day.

Daffyd, normajeane and I organised something with an Owaka tucker establishment for a meal on the way back from the ride.

    Unless Daffyd has changed things..

What time do you reckon you'll get to Owaka?

If its a long ride, with a late lunch for you guys I might get a bit of a sleep in.

    *CHCH people*

A heads up for those coming down from Chch, just be aware that there is roadworks south of Ashburton, it's a 30km/h zone for about 3-4km. They are re-surfacing the road, so please take care!! (They may have finished it by the weekend, or is that wishful thinking!?)

Take care folks and I'll see you on Saturday!

    Card pump in Owaka.

And also a pump (unknown Octane) gas at Papatowhai, about 10 km from Camp KB.
