My partner and l decided to do this years Coast to Coast ride as neither of us had ever been on it before and we were looking forward to a good day out riding.
Got up early Saturday morning as we were meeting up with some other fellow riders from the Kapiti Coast at Subway in Waikanae and leaving there by 8.00am.
Just as we headed off it started to rain (drizzle) and l thought that hopefully it wouldn't hang around for too long and that the skies would soon clear up Wrong as we rode in the rain right up until just North of Foxton.
Arrived at the Himatangi Beach for sign on just b4 9.00am and watched the bikes ride in which was great to see.
Briefing was done around 10.00am and there soon after we all started to head off on our days ride with the 1st stop being Woodville.
Well my partners bike decided that it had, had enough riding for 1 day and gave up the ghost and wouldn't restart once it stopped. Didn't even make it to State Highway 1.
Thank goodness the pick up crew were behind us who stopped to help put the bike on the trailer where we left it at the Computer place on the corner of State Hwy 1 and the Himatangi Beach Rd. Thanks guys for your help.
Lucky we decided to take 2 bikes as the good old Honda CBR 250 got us home where we got out of our drenched and soaked went riding gear and then we hopped into the van and went back up there to pick up the bike.
After a disappointing day out we can only look forward to next years Coast to Coast.
I hope all of you that went on it enjoyed your ride and we hope to see you all back out there in next years Coast to Coast where we hope to do it from start to finish.
