Bluetooth helmets?

I know Nolan do/did a bluetooth-enabled helmet - are there other manufacturers doing the same thing?

I realise things like the Blueant interphone are supposed to work with any helmet, but I think I'd rather trust the integration done by the helmet manufacturer - I don't want to have my head broken by an earpiece that the helmet wasn't designed for. I'd still probably go that way as a second choice, though.

I did a bit of research on this a while ago, Nolan N-Com bluetooth systems are the best out there. Couple of other lesser known manufacturers do similar, but they're mostly crap. Only problem is the Nolans are so feckin expensive... over $600 for the lid then another grand or so for the bluetooth set-up!

The bluetooth setup didn't seem to add up to quite that much on motomail, but then I'm not sure I was including all the right bits.

Also, is there a non-flip Nolan n-com helmet? Haven't seen one yet, and not entirely sure I want a flipping lid.

Yeah, the N-Com system comes in several pieces, depending on your application as to whether you buy every piece or not... Motomail is usually really good for pricing though, as a note.

The N85 helmet does N-Com as well, its a full-faced lid (and cheaper too I see!)

Shoei do a helmet (XR1100 I think) that has insets for aftermarket comunication kits.
We use the BT intercom kit between Mrs and Mr Bergs bikes as well as answering phonecalls and find it works really well.
She has hers in her Shoei and I have mine in my AGV which also fits well.
Lots cheaper than the Nolan setup

We have the Blueant Interfone set up and it's unobtrusive and works very well. Got two helmets and the BT for less than one integrated helmet!

I use a Blueant Interphone with an Arai helmet.

I cannot see how it could break my head under any circumstances...The unit is on the outside of the helmet and the earpiece inside is flat and fits into the ear recess.

I don't think there is a problem.
