    Givi HX08 helmet

    Hi,
Does anyone have one of these helmets? If so, what do you think of it?

It has the features I am looking for in a helmet i.e. flip front, internal sun visor, plenty of vents and it fits my price range (~$400).

    If you have one .................

    Is the padding comfortable?
Is it very noisy in the wind?
Does it fog up in cold weather?

Unfortunatly, no-one down here stocks them so I can't try one on. I might have to drive to Christchurch.

    Thank you

I just bought HX06 (looks better than HX08 ..IMO) on TM (Peter at EMOTO in christchurch).... for $349
Helmet arrived today and looks great so far, much better quality than any other helmet i've ever owned, inside is nice and plush and it seem very well put together, chin strap is awesome (fast release ratcheting type) ...., and comes with anti fog spray and replacable air vents (summer/winter mode) but havent tested it out yet on a road so will let you know regarding the noise etc...

Also before you drive to CHCH, i paid for my helmet on wednesday using paynow option trademe has and Peter had it in a mail the same afternoon so i had it on a doorstep the next morning and thats to Auckland...so maybe save yourself a gas and 3 hour drive...

Thank you. I'll check out the HX06.

I've tried several brands of helmet. Even though they were the same size the fit was always different. I thought I would be best to try before I buy (and it's a good excuse for another weekend away!)

Helmets have to be tried on before you buy... and the only shop I have seen Givi helmets is in New Plymouth. Dose Motoretail AK store shop have them...?

That said they Givi helmets I saw May last year looked pretty cool.

I saw the Givi I want at Wellington Motorcycles and it was on special.

We were on our way to U2 so I thought it best not to spend $350 just 2 days into our trip. Then we ran out of time to go back to the shop on the way home. - Bugger!

I assume I have named the right bike shop. It's the one in Cambridge Terrace - Harley and Suzuki agents.
At the back right of the shop there is a seperate display area with accessories and apparel. There is a wall of helmets to the right in this area.

The Givi's were there on November 24th 2010.

So after a curry for lunch I can confirm no Givi helmets in WMCC.

Image Motorcycles in New Plymouth did... and one of the Hamilton shops (can't remeber which one tho)... or this
