Thought I'd go for a little ride to the top of the hill last night, to see if it was raining in the Rapa like the weatherman said.
Brown Owl approaching the curve, lady in front indicates right turn and moves to right of the lane, I move to left in lane.
Then suddenly she wheels left, panic stop nice controlled, vertically stopped, rear bumper just clips front tyre which like, pile drives me into the ground.
First point of impact right shoulder, it made one of those rip sounds, you don't want to hear.
Laying on the ground vehicle then does sharp right into row running parallel to main road, dam bitch is doing a runner.
Pick my self up, nobody around no witnesses, geeze where is everyone, this is State H/way 2, oh well 6.30 guess everyone must be having tea.
Well guess I'm picking bike up one armed, pleased it's the ZX10 on not the other porker I ride.
Get it up on stand and thinking this hurts a little and there seems to be a big boney lump on my shoulder that wasn't here before.
Vehicle comes back down row with a passenger and pulls up at give way beside me, nice blond lady gives me one of those smiles.
Oh dear looks like you could do with some help, but I in a hurry. Drives off... got the number, I really don't think she had any idea what had just happened.
Well best I take myself to A & E to see what I have done... after 3hr mandatory wait, being amused by the antics of the drug and alcohol abusers.
Strangely they out numbered the rugby players on Sunday night, maybe it's not the time of year they throw that oval ball around.
Got 2 xray's, nothing broken, the big lump is your collar bone, the funny looking dip after that is where your AC joint used to sit, you have ruptured the AC ligament
and your arm has dropped about 30mm. You'll be fine, it's only a cosmetic thing, looks bit funny but will still work OK after a couple of weeks of pain. Gee thanks Doc, but what if I ever want to lift something over head height... Off to have the little Irish physio inflict some pain on me tomorrow and hopefully get some realistic options.
Pain has settled down a little tonight and only around 20mm droop to shoulder now, uncertain when I will be fit to ride.
