In response to consumer insistence on a more natural product and Sodium Benzoate's links to DNA damage (read Parkinsons, early aging effects, neurodengenerative disorders, cell death in general) and ADHD, the Coca Cola Company is in the process of phasing Sodium Benzoate out of Diet Coke. Aspartame (used in medicine as a heavy duty laxative) controversial at this time. But no real proof of health danger in small doses....yet. Worth noting that it does break down into Formaldehyde in the human body.

Caffeine has both positive and negative effects on the body. Dependant on individual reactions.
Worse negative effects are addiction, headaches, stomach/intestinal irritation, insomnia, bone density loss. Healthiest effects occur in it's natural state (coffee, cocoa).
    Woops! Too late!

Oh one more thing, once at a party I kinda fell asleep and a mate of mine poured Coke Zero on my face as a prank. My shirt and face didn't go all sticky.

    I was so glad.

why do you think sugar is bad?

how much of this shit do you intend to drink?

I used to drink a lot of Coca Cola (TM) but now I have maybe one a month in the summer.

Whats wrong with water? or black coffee?

Water is boring. You don't want boring life, do you? Nah just kidding. I've been drinking coke zero quite a sum lately and the amount of sugar has reached to the point of my curiosity (and the chart label at the back got me thinking).
I do however have increased my amount of exercise daily.

Aspartame is a known carcinogenic. Sugar is the lesser of two evils!

I remember reading of a woman, who chewed a packet of sugarfree gum a day, whose health started to deteriorate gradually. She went to her GP who couldn't find anything wrong.
She just got worse, to the point where she began to put her things in order and was preparing to die. She was having blackouts, was collapsing, throwing up, having vision problems etc.
Someone suggested she give up the gum, and within days her health began to improve, and within weeks was back to normal.

As I said earlier Aspartame is a poison! (As is Equal and most other sugar replacements.)

Consumer compiled overseas studies a few years ago which showed how any one sweetener was not healthy, however when certain sweeteners were combined they had a multiple sweetening effect reducing the amount needed for the desired effect.

Anything can be dangerous to your health in sufficient quantity however modeate intake can be no problem, alchohol included.

I drink Coke Zero & use Equal tablets in tea & coffee and use Equal powder on cereals etc as a matter of having to (diabetes type 2) and to satisfy my sweet tounge.

Sugar is a natural product. Your body has evolved to use it, but when we were all wandering about the plains of Africa leading lives of nasty, brutish shortness, the chance find of honey, or sweet berries was a huge bonus: so we equate sweetness with pleasure and desirability. in our society of plenty, it is very easy for anyone to overindulge in that "Sometimes" food, and your body goes "Well, I can't use that right now, I'll store it for later".

So, the answer is pretty obvious, innit?

wanting your (wait for it) cake and eating it too is a human characteristic. But so is willpower.

    You were sucked in.

The internet loves people like you.

Any chance you want to join the court action against the manufacturers of Aspartame?, After trawling through numerous shadow companies it was discovered it was being produced by the catholic church, which as everyone knows is really a front for the order of the Illuminati, which those in the know, know is headed by Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama.

So thats the bitch we need to nail, A contribution of $50000 will get you in the door.

We need to do this to save humanity from Aspartame, people may die, pets maybe injured, But this evil MUST be stopped.

I love water! Guzzling the stuff this Summer. But a nice cold V....bliss.

Daffyd, Aspartame is a proven nothing just yet. Well a laxative...so maybe this lady was suffering from malnutrition due to intestinal absorption issues? Those gum packets do warn you about excessive consumption.

You have to get your facts straight. It was a NZ chick, from Wellington, who was eating 4 packets of gum every day for over 5 months! What's that? 36 sticks a day? I'm surprised she didn't go to the toilet 20 times a day from the laxative effect. She probably did and then got sick cos of malnutrition. I can speculate too

If you drink good bourbon (ie not jim beam battery acid or similar) you don't eed to disguise the taste with lemonade or coke (be it original, diet, zero) or any other lolly water.

Just ice and a splash of water is fine.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

You can get caffeine free, sugar free coke (has a goldy coloured label)
It does tend to lose its fizz a bit faster than the real stuff however

From memory it also tastes more like 'diet' rather than 'zero'
