Wicked footage in tonights SBS coverage.

The commentator made mention that it's believed the lead KTM's are on their 3rd engine's. Each competitor is 'only' allowed 3 motors.

I think Casteau on the Sherco is on his 4th?
He's wearing the time penalty and just trying to finish.

Si Pavey is on his 2nd.

Christian Califano played Rugby for France....
Number 67. Take a look at the back of his jersey. I spotted this on stage 11....
He is lying 90th overall, nice ride!

You do know that the Frogs are building an Eden Park. When the old goal post were pulled out of Aucks Eden park and sold on TM a few months back they were bought by a Froggy to be shipped to Froggy land. All 70 tonnes worth!

Yeah....I thought it might have been a co-incidence. Maybe thet were the investors that bought it then, sponsored him etc too. Thanks...

    Ktm

KTM are offering Dakar Race Bikes for E26,000, all ready to go for next years Dakar. Cheaper than the opposition bikes by far....It seems they want to remain a strong force I suppose.
You then have to find the entry fee, transportation, spares, mechanic...etc. Oh, that's you... Privateer, for all that money given a small metal case to put all of your posessions into for 16 days...
Did you hear about the Quad bike rider that snapped the front fork? (I think) He was towed by 4X4, then by trailer, then onto the back of a sheep truck, miles away from the course. They repaired it, got it welded out the back of nowhere...he then went on his way and finished.... He was from Bulgaria. It sort of reminds me of the wonderful work Shrek did to my gearshift lever on the DB1K last year.....Took me 35Km out of town to the Hydro village to weld up a lever....
Great stories out there, from finishers and non-finishers alike..

Shrek was after your gearshift lever?

    Sounds very dodgy to me.
