Do you think a scooter trailer is possible?

Do you think it is possible to make a trailor or sidecar storage thing for a scooter (to cart thing a little heavier around)? what would be the rules on this and how many CC do you think you would need to tow lets say 50Kg??

Now am i thinking how would I go about getting someone to make one and how does the connector work..
I dont think it would cost that much to make..
Beleive that a 49cc scooter can cary around 120kgs and i am around 80kgs so should be able to carry goods in it around 40Kgs , which would be awesome for what i would use it for.
Any one know what the laws would be??

yep, I used to ride one of those vespas. The vehicles are 150 cc 4 stroke vespa scooters. did not have a problem towing the trailers whatsoever .

IIRC the law restricts the fully loaded trailer to 1/2 the unladen weight of the bike, otherwise your speed limit is 30 km/h.

I've seen a couple of scooter combinations (sidecar) driving around town' I think they look great and the riders were hooning along fairly well, so yes it's very possible.

Fully laden on the open road up hill may be asking a lot though. A bit unwieldy in the handling department too so you might want to pay a bit more attention to the road than this momma

I cant find any law that would stop you, except I understand that your laden trailer should weigh less than half the weight of your unladen scooter.

I think that the weight of the trailer would not effect most decent mopeds, Im not sure why you say a 49cc bike would not manage.

I have seen cyclists hauling massive trailers, the human body is good for about 300-400 watts peak and only for a few minutes.

A moped can do 2000 watts all day and all night.

Keep me posted, Im interested in this project.

I think it would manage but didn't think it was allowed.
Can you use a trailer before having a full licence?

Those cyclists are probably not trying to keep up with 50 km/h traffic

this sort of setup is very common on scooters in asia

have no idea of the legal side here
but 100-125cc scooters are used as workhorses throughout asia and you would be amazed what they carry eg 4 people plus luggage
