I've always found with the people i've worked with, and i've been in uniform for years, that the less pride someone has in themselves, the less they have in their work..........it's slobbish.

There's slackers and piss poor employees all over the place mate......how long have you been in the work force? Surely you've seen them?! Don't split hairs, it's a generalisation quite obviously. Not all who dress lazily are, however I did'nt say that they all are....Remember the whole idea of the thread is to do with the uniform and the hat thing, where there are standards set.....i'm not talking about a factory floor.

This guy isn't wearing the turban for style or to show his cultural heritage, it's required by his religion... Would you also try to force Jews to eat non-kosher food, or Muslims to eat non-halal food, if you thought it would in some way make them appear more professional?.. I'd much rather have a smattering of Sikh officers who wear a slightly different uniform and are good at their job than have a bunch of officers who wouldn't have made the cut if it weren't for the fact that the uniform standards prevent any Sikh's from serving, thus reducing the potential recruiting pool. This is exactly the reason that armies have traditionally waived the bans on long hair or beards for Sikhs and Jews - it's all very well to bleat on about how you don't want to respect their beliefs until suddenly you need their help and realize that your intolerance has prevented them from serving their country as they wanted to.

Methinks if the hat incorporated some form of satanic imagery offensive to Christians, the majority of people who'd be decrying a Sikh wearing his turban instead of a hat would suddenly change their minds about one standard for all - far too many are happy enough to discriminate against a minor religion they probably have no experience of, like Sikhism, but when it's the major religion of the land, they'll be singing a different tune.

I cannot be bothered replying to all of this crap. Too many holes.

For starters, there's quotas on intakes. You won't believe me, but it's highly possible a middle aged white man was denied the job for the Sikh, it does'nt work the other way around here, you can argue black and blue about it, it's a fact. It's not official, but it exists. I'm not saying he would'nt be good, I do not discriminate I think you'll find. I believe that all persons should be required to wear the same uniform. This is not the case here.

Secondly, yes, I would force Muslims to eat non-halal food and jews to eat pork, because that is exactly what I said is'nt it? It's exactly the same.....is'nt it? Why not further disect and make up some more bullshit that I did'nt say? You twat.

As for the Christian comments, what a load of shit. N.Z bends over and takes it up the arse for the minorities, letting them do whatever they want to suit their beliefs (remember i'm not talking everydau life i'm talking in a job with a strict uniform code), but like fuck you could in their wonderful countries.......so get it straight. I've been to middle eastern countries and had to follow their rules, which I did happily, because that was THEIR customs. It never ever goes both ways.
