These were killed off before they got started by the oil crisis. Even engine developement was underway to be used in F5000 by Repco. Motor is a 4.4L version of the Rover 3.5L V8.

Be thankful eh,looks like a cross between a Jensen Interceptor and something only an Englishman could find attractive. As if the P76 wasnt bad enough.
Be the person your dog thinks you are...
Would have been interesting to see them up against the Monaro & Falcon coupe.

Doubt it to be honest, whilst the motor may have had potential as bad as both the Holden and Falcon were in the handling and stopping depts you could bet your boots that that thing would have been infinitely worse. If the thing had ever been built in numbers no doubt the motor would have ended up somewhere worthwhile the rest of it..shit who cares.Somewhat similar to the fate of the P76.

And here I'm thinking I knew alot about cars![]()
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
When the P76 came out a mate described them to me as "a car that Neville Lodge could have designed"
(Neville Lodge was a cartoonist for the Evening Post newspaper in Wellington a long time ago. Wellingtonians of a certain age will know who I refer to)
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

The P76 did - Even Green drove one in the London Sahara Munich Rally,he wrote a book called A Boot Full of Right Arms about the rally...a really good read.I don't know if a Falcon was even in it,but a Monaro was - and the P76 just ran away from it.The P76 was right up there with some of the world best rally cars (these were production cars, used on long rallys). There were some bad directions, and most of the competitors got lost,Stirling Moss almost died of thirst when his Mercedes broke down. The front end of the P76 was ripped out in the dunes.Only one car finished the rally,a Citroen...so of course was declared the winner.
Anyway,it proved that with very little preparation the P76 could run rings around the ford and Holden.

Ohhh man dont hassle the P76, they are awesome but farking ugly but awesome and most 4.4's found them selves in jet boats, perfect all alloy mid cubed donks, thers a Stag on tardme at the mo with one in, if it wasent yellow it be mine. The Force 7 does look P76ish from the frount.

I like the M3 'Stuart'. I was offered one for $800 in the 70's and 3 of us were going to go shares but mydad was NOT happy to have it parked in the back yard.... (I already had a Daimler Scout Car there). Blary wonderful thing - used left over radial aircraft engines and you started it with a big black powder cartridge - phoooarrr....
Back view.
