He was by far the most committed through the sharp left hander, he made that big black R1 corner like a motard (corner speed on backing in)

Top effort, only once you put yourself on the battlefield do you get a taste of the commitment required to place in the top 3. Well done everybody who raced yesterday. Glad there were no majors like last year.

I notice Shaun had a couple of issues though. Suspension problems?

Dan took me down from Auckland airport to Piroa (his spelling, good thing he didn't whack that in his GPS)
He drove into town and we did half a lap before seeing Bernard Yamaha and saying hi.
2-1/2 more laps and I hadn't hear oh shit so often; ever I think, he hadn't watched a video of the place, said he preferred not to and when I suggested picking up Brian Bernard to maybe show him the way around he declined, quite happy to see it himself...
then the rest is history of course

I understand you had a lot to do with bringing him over, Spyda? Goodonya mate, it's been great having that sort of class thrown in the mix.

Gareth Jones won 3 ot of 3 on his Bernard Racing R1 Superbike as a newcomer in 2008 and still hold the outright lap record at 44.5 which is half a second faster than Dan went in the weekend.
I would suggest that Gareth may have won on debut at Wanganui if he had have been on the 1000cc not the 600.
Bernards must stop getting these freakn fast riders in hahaha
