I thought they had to be done in order?

i.e. no "after" shot can be taken before getting the tag?

It would certainly make my Tues ride a lot easier if I'm mistaken.

It has been known for the old ... and new tag, to be posted ... at the same time ...

I have no problem with 'em both being posted from the same ride, but my spirit of fair play says one must collect the tag before presuming to take the new one.

i.e. the rule about no file photos.

Of course that's just my interpretation, and I seek clarification from the match official.

As long as the old tag is posted before or in the same post as the new tag, there is no problem. I've done that before. But ya can only claim the old if ya the first one to get your pic up on here first. Saying ya going for it doesn't count for shit. I have raced a rider back to my PC before and only beaten him to posting the tag because I had Broadband & he was on dial-up.

I understood it as RIB has explained.
Like Smifffy has said in the spirit of fair play, where I can I hit them in order but this time I got the Opotiki shot while I was going past, then the BOP Polytech one on my way home about 2 hours apart.

If Smifffy has the correct interperetation the old tag is still valid.

my take on it is no file photos to CLAIM a tag,and i reckon as long as the new is taken on the same "mission" as the old then thats fair. The distances can be larger than the round town games so I think its fair

Ok, I was planning two missions for this tag, but now I may be able to do it in one.

Actually will be going South after that particular point as we've decided we're doing the Waioeka and the whole East Cape loop as part of the Southern Cross. Makes for a big day between points 2 and three - but hey what's an extra 200km...

Plus it looks like Smiffy is going to get it anyway...

I'll have patchy internet (relying on motels etc) from Friday but I'll try and keep an eye on the thread...

Actually if someone moves it South of Palmy by say Thursday, I'd be able to take it back across the straights. Glove thrown down - accept the challenge!

    Good on you.
Often thought of doing a Tauranga - East Cape - Gisborne - Tauranga day ride.

So wish I was doing the Southern Cross.

Yep and that was heading South. Ya put it back on the Ferry heading North in May. Players are getting thin on the ground but it could still be on the Ferry by the end of March if ya lucky. As long as it is moving at least that shows there is still an interest, aye
