It was a noisy one here. We get two sorts. This was one that sounds like a truckload of steel cans is coming down the road and rattles everything in the house on its way through. The other sort is the jolty, swaying type that just arrives unannounced. Marvellous.

Ah, sorry buddy but there were plenty in CHCH and surroundings thinking the same pre September 2010, Boxing Day, Jan 20 & last Tuesday.

Get your emergency packs sorted pronto.

Weird. I SERIOUSLY didn't feel a thing. I'm in central Upper Hutt City.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

It is amazing how sound becomes associated with things. At work today there was a large *BANG* but it was of a low frequency and outside the building, more of a large, dull thud through your feet/body. My first thought was earthquake! No report of earthquake up here leads me to believe it was a truck dumping a skip in a rather noisey way or something
