Likewise, if you need somewhere with water and lectrick we're all good at our place, and plenty of space if you need to borrow a bed or bit of floor.

Thanks CJ, no PM arrived yet but our water just came on now. Was nice being woken up to the sound of the toilet filling. What a glorious sound!

And the problem with riding fast to get away from smells is that some of the smells have faster bikes than me or they catch up at the meet up points!

Ah - it seems that PMs need a subject (Title) or they won't get sent... sorted now.

Good videos - shame about Lyttelton but theres a real community spirit there so I'm sure it'll bounce back...

Meetup Wednesday (tomorrow/today, however you look at it!)

Right, so who is keen for a meet up in Rangiora tonight?
Does that suit everyone? It is a little farther out of town than Kaiapoi but I just chose it randomly and there are some nice roads to get there ...

How about the Monteiths in Victoria street

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...08256&t=h&z=18

Again, random choice. Well, not really, it's the only place I know out there.

If there is a positive response from a few then we'll do it, if no one replies in the positive then we'll leave it for another day, no worries either way.

Would be nice for a ride and to see you smelly bunch, oh wait, that's ME!

Yeah, I'm up for this... I think there have been plenty of good points on both points of view as to the appropriateness of riding under the current circumstances, but the upshot is that getting together for some socializing and group commiserating is the human coping mechanism for situations like this, and as long as we aren't out tearing it up or getting in the way, I think there's nothing disrespectful or inappropriate about getting together for a chat, and indeed the sense of camaraderie and fellowship that's (somewhat) inherent in the biker community is precisely the sort of attitude we need to have towards all our fellow man in times like these.

So, what's the plan?.. meet out there at 6, or aim to leave Christchurch about 6, or what?
Also, were you thinking we just meet out there for a bit of a chat, or go for a bit of a pootle once we're out there?

Rangiora sounds like a good plan.

Maybe could go for a short pootle from there the back way to Amberly, could always stop in at the leithfield on the way past, and the mak by the old waimak bridge is open and very bike friendly.

Hmmn, if this damn wind doesn't settle down I think I might skip the ride, hopefully it will, forecast is "Fine. Fresh northwesterlies easing.", so hopefully the wind will take heed and ease.
