yesterday at 12:51 I was at the drive through window of the Whangarei Macdonalds, they told me to go and wait in bay number 1...red cross is right across the road and they were all outside. MacDonalds stopped for two minutes.

I seriously think you should start promoting this 'Plastic Jesus' theory - announce it as a religion and start to build followers (I'd like to be high on the pyramid - I mean management, if you'll have me). Obviously the followers will be expected to make (tax free) donations to the church and the leaders may spend such dollars as they see fit.
Why not some Plastic Jesus T-shirts to wear too so we can be easily identified when we march in mass to protest about things that are important to the Church of PJ - hell the women folks can wear their PJ's to church as a sign of respect to the Plastic Jesus.
It goes without saying that The Church of The Plastic Jesus will be pro motorcycling and import their own tyres and sell these to the followers at significantly reduced rates. Synthetic oil would be available too as PJ is keen on anything that comes in a plastic container.
You'll have to sort out the church's stand on sex - I'd recommend plenty of it, heck attractive members could even bring in photos to 'offer' to Plastic Jesus on the day of worship (can't be Sunday as that is a riding day!).

The church will require a number of lodges (we'll call them mission houses) that the congregation can retreat to if PJ starts to wobble too much.

There are obviously numerous thinks I have not thought of but I feel the important church matters have been covered:

    Income
    Motorcycling
    Sex
    Safety

Maybe safety should become before sex?

I guess that depends on where Plastic Jesus sits on the vexed issue of natural rubber

Now, wheres some sand for my head
    here we go again.

OK: it is undisputed that the most influential body in our solar system is the sun. and that due to the well known theory of gravity. (Newton's laws, and Einstein's theory of relativity to be more specific) (edit: you do believe in gravity dont you? howzabout testing that hypothesis in the accepted manner by jumping out a window? over 5 storeys please.)

and of course Earth and its moon, (Luna) are part of that system. And yes, no one is disputing that the earth moon gravitational system causes and influences events on the earth. Tides are the obvious example. People (often of the female pursuasion) who become insane for a week or so every month, that sort of thing.

Ring's "science" (yep: sneer quotes.... you may infer that I do not respect the criminal ring as a scientist from my use of same) seems to be "Well, duh, the moon causes tides in the sea, I therefore infer that it causes the same effects in the earth's crust, causing earthquakes. Not only do i infer that, but due to my having passed form 3 maths with Mr Smith in 1968, I can calculate EXACTLY where those stresses will be released, accurately enough to predict the next earthquake".

Is that a fair summary? My dripping sarcasm aside, I intend that to be a fair, one paragraph summary, of the criminal ring's position. If it is not, please advise.

Assuming it is, then demonstrably the criminal ring has abjectly failed. Not only does he fail to predict earthquakes, he demonstrably failed to predict the Feb 22 earthquake.

Don't just take my word for it: look here:

    http://sciblogs.co.nz/the-atavism/20...-the-moon-man/

    and here:

Now, for a really good basic introduction to the planetary system, how the moon was formed, and some other interesting science (proper science that is) have a look at this:

I saw the TV show which was on TVNZ 7: it was truly excellent.

I dont expect you will, by the way. And here's why: Your position is cemented in you have "Faith" presumably: bizarrely, the demonstration of rings criminal scaremongering will only serve to buttress your belief in it. Hopefully someone reading this will enjoy the linkage.

One more thing: If you have cancer (assuming you find out about it before its gone too far).... using, you know, science and doctors and all that. What do you do? Do you get the criminal ring or one of his cohorts to treat you with crystals and bits of weed and rainbows, while praying for a miracle to mother Gaia, or do you go to the doctor, and get it treated?

On a personal note, any faith I had in invisible friends (of any denomination) was destroyed by watching my mother die of cancer. The only thing we as a species have is what we do, and what we create, and the pinnacle of that achievement is the scientific method.

    And I'm done playing.

Ooooh, I'm in: my suggestion was going to be a rock and roll band called "Plastic Jesus" but this is better because, well, I have no talent.

I'll be in charge of asset stripping the incoming converts, and buying bahamian islands, setting up the offshore accounts, and the one on one personal tutoring of the best looking of the young female acolytes. (Note to self: have a shower first.. nah, fuckit, they can lick me clean)

Oh, and we'll need guns. Lots of guns.

which is a quote from a film but I cant remember which one.

    Dear Pastor Allan,

Some liquid refresments should be endorsed by the PJ, and also pies!
A very important matter to attend to!

Would that be the really tall building with the 360deg view? How was that in the shake last week? Would've got a bit of a wobble on I imagine.
The views expressed above may not match yours - But that's the reason my Dad went to war - wasn't it?

You mean that stuff that makes up 0.04% of the Earth's mass? Gonna take a much much bigger pull than that to move the crust. You keep crapping on about it, but the fact is, it's mass is 5/8s of fuck all compared to the tectonic plates.
