The little voice that saves your a...errr bacon

Went for a little ride through Scotsman Valley Road this morning. Nice road, apart from all the yuppie housing... Can get a little..errmmm..."spirited" at times shall we say...

On the way home there's a car in front - sitting on about 99 - 100km/hr. Debated blasting past it but the little voice told me not to bother. Just as well. Round the next corner is the radar patrol - far enough offline that the RD did not pick it up until I was well in sight.

Not that I would have been going crazy you unnerstand... but may have been fast enough to attract attention. (Like 109 shall we say...). Course the car in front slammed on the brakes and dropped to 80km/hr for good measure.

I gave the nice officer a little wave as I went by.

A little wave to the Officer - always the gentleman.
Ride it until the wheels fall off...

I love THAT voice in my head... The others I am not keen on.

But the pills seem to be working.......

He was there for your safety, it's not revenue gathering and there is no way they cause accidents.

No no no! Excuse me for being obscure but every time I have been in a situation where I'm thinking should I or should'nt I, it inevitably ends up should'nt. Like if I'm thinking "can I get away with a fast over take here?" If I have to think about it I've missed the window of opportunity & have not set up the maneuver in enough time to weigh up all the factors. Like putting myself in a situation were I cannot see through a corner & getting a ticket for speeding on exit or having to brake mid turn or or deal with whatever I was traveling to quickly to avoid. I would think about it & probably stay put too. Obeying my wee mantra/subliminal voice. The invisible co-pilot.

Dont you love that little voice in yer head ( I also love the music thats also playin' most of the time)...the ammount of times ive had that 6th sense kick in now means that when i think something "could" happen, i pay it heed.
Its something thats saved my Bacon many times from tickets or full frontals...I wonder if its got somehting to do with age?
