I can't believe that the favourite pie in the poll is "steak and cheese"... since most of the cheese versions I've tried have the consistency of smegma and a flavour to match. Might be different if they used "real" cheese instead of that emulsified soap you get in most of them...

Anything and cheese simply doesn't do it for me.

Yeah mate I agree entirely.Cheese to me just dumbs down the flavour.
A good example is a maccas cheeseburger, have one of those then a maccas hamburger, the hamburger has HEAPS more flavour.

Depends on the cheese. I had a lovely Venison and Blue cheese pie at a restaurant in Martinborough a couple of years ago.

...a gristly old dollar pie with watery gravy that runs down your chin is every bit as good as any gourmet pie when yer stomach has been thinking your throat was cut 10 hours before..

    Thats a good example?

Fuck me dead, The shit they sell at mcdonalds has no place in a conversation about flavour.

And their basic hamburger isn't even edible.

All that talk of pies... ordered my favourites of yesteryear online... 2 x boxes in the freezer! McGreggors mutton... just had the first with a drizzle of mint sauce. Don't think the other 23 are going last too long.
