My goal was Bronze and I achieved it. I am looking forward to everyone's stories.

As usual, it's a rather long winded affair like riding on interminably long, arse numbingly boring straights. Therefore the system made me split into two sections.

Hi there, I was pillion with Mr Triple on the Blue Tiger 1050

This was our second ride in the TT2000 having acheived Bronze last year. I think we were the only 'two up' to acheive a trophy last year which was great

We were going for gold this year, we don't have GPS so spent HOURS on google maps working through all the options that suited us best... sadly we didn't count on the softer compound of the tyre we had not handling the 'Southern Chip' or the 'two up' riding, so we had to drop a couple of flyers to get to Alexandra for a tyre replacement.

After re-working our plans we had a pretty cruisy Sunday back to Yaldhurst and achieved enough points for Silver. A bit dissapointing, however the silver will look good between last years bronze and next years GOLD!! Bring it on!

Awesome to chat to some of you, and great effort to you guys who achieved what you set out to achieve.. that is the aim of it after all!

I was a first time rider on the TT2000 this year, and had set a Bronze as my goal. Managed to achieve it too with two flyers to spare.

Scariest moment of the trip for me was the 3 black cows in the middle of the road at 6:30am on the road to Kurow in the morning fog. I must have been still half-asleep because I don't even remember braking for them, just throttling off and dodging them.

Yes, I too was wondering just what they had mixed with the fuel. It sort of reminded of Castrol R from my 2 stroke racing days.

Haha.. pure skill gets that thing ticking along.. go Mr Triple!

I read your ride report.. it was not us that went straight past the corner for GKMD (flyer #1) we had given way to another speedy so it must have been him that went straight through.. we saw you and KoroJ ahead. When you suggested we had come the long way at Gabriels Gully we thought you meant in comparison to the gravel road that you had considered when we last spoke, and must have decided against. We were pretty stocked to have caught up to you again.

All good fun and part of the challenge.

Yes, it was the other rider that went straight ahead on Dukes Rd, but I'm sure you didn't follow us when we turned off immediately after the Outram bridge.

We did turn off immediately after the Outram Bridge. You were about a km ahead of us when you were climbing the other side of the Gully shortly after

We slowed down alot... have you ever tried a Tigers headlights in the dark?? Terrrible at diving into the scrub on the side of the road, reduced visability on an unfamiliar road doesn't bother me... on the back lol

If only, if only. Should have done the Jacksons Bay flyer.
Not to worry, gold will do.
My reason for posting is to applaud everyone for taking part in the rally,
and to apologise to the riders I'm sure I pissed off on the way round.
Namely the white suzuki on the return from Dart river, and the guys with the mohekans near Arthurs Pass. Sorry...

Well done fellas. I was well on my way of completing the basic route on a GN250, but had to unfortunately pull out of the second day as was helping a friend who decided to go and plow some fields. Plenty of adventures and laughs were had and it was great meeting most of you at the checkpoints and gas stations.

All going well I'll be back next year on the GN to set the record straight for the smallest and most underpowered bike to finish the TT2000 yet (And one of the biggest guys riding a GN too).

Hmm ...white suzuki, was that me, no body pissed me off cant be me,
Why did you miss the jacksons bay flier you had it sewn up.???
Jacksons Bay was a great flier, we were in and out pretty quick for a 96kM round trip, it was a race track through there, a real rush that was needed after the tight winding stuff (with loose gravel)it could have been 5 diamonds.

i dont know about that.
Me and Johan (completed diamond on a goldwing) are considering trying it on stepthroughs next year.
We managed the brass last year, and plan to do it this year, we will do a bit of time trial to see if it can be done
