People who adopt the antagonistic approach of "I'm a customer - you will kiss my arse", seldom realise that it has the opposite effect to that intended. Such customers will often be given a lower standard of service - and won't be offered the same discounts that a more courteous and friendly (and therefore more appreciated) client will.

Good manners cost nothing - bad manners can cost a lot - for both parties.

That's how it is always handled, but it's the way you handle it that is critical.
