This is the end - A short novel

    Hey Guys.

Just wanted to say thanks for the support from those on here who have been involved with or supported BADD over the years.

Although there is much more that could be done, it is the end of the road for me and time to pass the ball on.

I feel like I let people down, but you can only do this sort of thing for so long, before it's time to Shutup shop.

It is a shame, the Charity and Inc Society were setup pretty basic, so there's loads of potential - we have never applied for Govt funding, although received backing through educational platforms.

We have survived on donations, more so on donations of skills and time and marketing principals, there was no membership platform created, all to keep things very simple, otherwise I'd have had to employ admin.

I did have someone lined up to take over as spokesperson, but that's not going to happen, so unfortunately it's looking like things will have to wind down, if I want to continue to move forward I accept this needs to be done.

Which I have some plans in place to do so.

It's been a long time coming, but I've had commitments to honour and see through, I also needed to feel assured I was able to do as much as I possibly could.

The largest goal was set as a 'short term' 4 year plan, it's gone fairly quickly and I'll be finishing up just under the time frame I set.

I have absolutely enjoyed what I do (despite how the journey began) at times there have been extreme challenges to rise to and I was way beyond my comfort zone as a non-academic. I nearly gave up a few times, but I do love adrenaline.

I enjoyed working with many great, focussed people, who weren't afraid to standup and be counted.

This platform has been involved in legislative changes - which go through this year, we fought and won battles, lost battles, highlighted loop-holes and educated many.

As an aside I will still be mildly involved with local happenings, but my main thrust is to get going with personal plans.

There are too many to thank here individually, and I fear I'd miss some-one or an entity. I'll do that personally.

So thanks again, on behalf of my board members and myself, I extend humbled and heartfelt gratitude, sincere thanks that when the call for help went out, so many answered.

Achievement is not always success while reputed failure often is. It is honest endeavor, persistent effort to do the best possible under any and all circumstances.

You have done more than most and made a difference. You can stand proud. And I am very happy that you are at an end and focus will now be on your self and your children.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

    Thanks!

I recon I could've done alot more though!!! Boundaries are made for pushing!
BUT - Not enough hours in the day!
The kids get the most of me and we have great adventures, what I haven't had time for, is my friendships and ME!!! That's still going to be difficult for awhile alas..

However there was no 'me' where this began, so - I learn't sometimes you need to lose yourself to find yourself again

There's no way I'd be who I am today If I hadn't taken this road!!

Looking forward to the next chapter baby!!

Thanks for all the hard work Jos.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

    Thanks a lot you guys

Really, I only actively did what I would hope anybody would (or bloody well should) do, in a similar situation that I faced, with no trial to sap the strength or restrict comment.

What's the worst that could happen?

Absolutely anybody at all can raise a platform to cause debate.

It's been quite an exercise in patience!

(My personal case is still going.)

I've observed that it is such a rare thing that we're not all fighting some kind of battle in life - it's how we deal with these battles that define us.

I certainly intend, that this will not be that which defines me.

I can say, it's not easy seeing cases come up and making a concerted effort to say nothing! I do hope that someone will step forth and grab the ball!
