Damn it's just dreadfull reading that list of injuries to someone so vibrant and cheerful.
Thoughts with her.

Horrible to hear but good that she is still with us.
Wishing you a fast recovery.
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
I read about it in the paper this morning and have been checking here all day hoping it was not someone off here!
Heal up soon Katie, your enthusiasm got me back out riding last weekend re-discovering how much fun it is after not riding for ages. I hope this doesn't put you off.
Take care.
here she was on Saturday after the fund raiser. Jumped off the bike - "look I can push it round all on my own"
You can even see the grin under the helmet!

First of all, poor Katie! that’s so horrible! Hope you get better fast!
second, hope all you testosterone fuelled dickheads(on other sites as well) are proud of yourselves for egging her on to buy a powerful bike which she had little or no experience with. how pathetic. now look, the poor woman is in hospital and won’t be riding for ages!
hope you're all happy with yourselves.

Hey - where the hell did that come from. I think thats way out of line. You know nothing about this. Katie was not fuelled on by anyone apart from herself to buy this bike. She spent a lot of time researching and riding different bikes. Its a smaller cc rating then her previous. She may not have had it that long, but she has been riding it very carefully and cautiously, getting the feel for it, the different riding style, position, power etc. She had also booked herself in for a pro rider day at Manfield. What happened on Sunday was a bloody accident, and a bloody awful one which could have happened to any of us.
Please dont hijack this thread with these unnecessarily comments. We all want to wish good thoughts and love to our mate, not start a bloody war!
thats bad bad news Kate
I hope the gods are smiling on your recovery as they were on your rescue.
Heal soon huh.

I work with the fire brigade officer that found her eventually , gotta love her humor as she wasnt letting them cut her jacket off her ...
she was off the beaten track to where they were looking but with all her injuries she seemed in fine spirits .
Bikes can be fixed or replaced , Katie dont beat ya self up over it as shit happens to us all . The KB community is behind u 100% in spirit .
Hope u make a great recovery to get back on that horse , all our thorts are with u at this time ..
Just going my own way
