Yndi Halda, same Post-Rock genre as Sigur Ros on page 1 (amazing live btw). Be patient and hang in there, it's a tad erm.... long. (16 mins)

The Evpatoria Report (be patient again)

Explosions in the Sky are also very good. Friday Night Lights movie soundtrack for example.

And something completely different, Brighton Port Authority

and different again, Rodrigo & Gabriela

    The Clash.

Not just the "should or I stay or should I go" & "Rock the Casbah" but more like "White Riot", "Bankrobber", "Safe European Home", "This is England", "The Magnificent Seven" etc

Dig through a few categories that appeal on shoutcast.com and you will find streaming media that you like. Doesn't take much listening to catch on to a few artists you have never heard before. Then look for these artists on demonoid.com

There's little or no point showing off what music we enjoy, as almost everyone has different tastes etc blah blah.

"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."

Disagree. We don't know what we don't know. And I would say that many of us do not go searching for music. We tend to come across something that we like and then we go searching for more of that band/performer. Well, that is me anyhow.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Agree! Hence the shoutcast link. Here "searching" isn't even searching, as you just click on a category and everything you ever want to hear (in that category) is right in front of you. It's a bit like google making "searching the internet" into a simple consumer appliance that it is.

Getting tickets was insanely hard (I wasted all of friday morning trying and failing with the internet site, managed to get one of the last 100 tickets released on monday monring), it required the gods of rock to be smiling on you at the time.
I hate to rub salt in the wound but the gig last night was so amazing words fail to describe it

Dreamtheatre one of my favourite bands, amazed hardly anyone knows them. If you like melodic/hard/progressive rock you'll love them.

Here's an electronica track I use when testing hi-fi systems. Yello are a leader in the genre, have been for decades:

But I discovered this at the hi-fi shop, a staffer used them as a test track - best thing about them? No lead guitar!
    Cheers,
    Colin
