JD I doubt Jensen could have gone much faster, the McLaren was not set up, (or designed), for such a track and he commented on the difficulty he had with it.
But that's my point. Mr Button could go much faster with the car setup for the track and unlike Mr Lowndes he has the experience in F1 to set it up to do that. 10/10ths for an F1 driver is a different kettle of fish to 10/10ths for a space frame replica driver. The difference between 9/10ths and 10/10ths in F1 is tiny, because as you say F1 technology requires a set of circumstances to work well. Don't forget that to set the car up properly would require at least a test team's resources with multiple engineers and data logging. By Jenson's own account the car wasn't working well, which will mask the difference in experience between the two drivers to a certain extent.

As you drop down throught he formulae the difference between 10/10ths and 9/10ths becomes very apparent.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Jensen's comments after driving the V8 were interesting. It would be good to get them both in each other's environments and see how they do. F1 is a very tough sport and requires a lot of physical strength and I think even someone of Craig's calibre would struggle after a few laps of an F1 circuit due to the extreme G-forces.

In F1 a second a lap is huge! It's a big enough gap in V8's but a chasm in F1...

Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!

Remember seeing that on TG, best part of the vid is the engineer making the engine play that song.

I rather suspect that Mr Button could find another 20 seconds, where Mr Lowndes is at the limit of what his tiny amount of seat time in an F1 car would give him.
I agree. Driven at race pace, supported by the team, etc etc, and it would take a lot more time off of it. As OAB says, apparently they don't even work properly unless they're being flogged.
