The difference between 9/10ths and 10/10ths in F1 is tiny, because as you say F1 technology requires a set of circumstances to work well. Don't forget that to set the car up properly would require at least a test team's resources with multiple engineers and data logging. By Jenson's own account the car wasn't working well, which will mask the difference in experience between the two drivers to a certain extent.
As you drop down throught he formulae the difference between 10/10ths and 9/10ths becomes very apparent.
Jensen's comments after driving the V8 were interesting. It would be good to get them both in each other's environments and see how they do. F1 is a very tough sport and requires a lot of physical strength and I think even someone of Craig's calibre would struggle after a few laps of an F1 circuit due to the extreme G-forces.
In F1 a second a lap is huge! It's a big enough gap in V8's but a chasm in F1...
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.
Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!
