I suppose I'd want to set fire to my iphone if I owned one too.

Ah well, better to have a working phone than stripping bolts in my bike.

Why a cig lighter? A good GPS (zumo550) comes with all the wiring and mounting kits. I wouldn't mount a flimsy device like an iphone anywhere outside a secure vault.

Well it was like $15 so I bought it in the spur of the moment. What do you suggest I use for an iPhone then? Because with the Waze app it's pretty much a decent GPS for my uses anyway.
I have it on my tank bag in the plastic part, I can still use it through my gloves - it's pretty much perfect for me unless I get a mount which I'm not prepared to do really, not paying a premium for bits of plastic and metal. The only downside is that it drains the battery if i'm on long trips.

The good thing is that zeo is actually getting all techie and wants to do some spannering! A good thing in my books!

Most of you don't realise just how far this lad has come from his original point of "duh, what's a 10mm socket?" to actually working on his bike(s).

Now Gremlin, that's a whole different sordid saga - though in his favour, he actually purchased a multi-tool toolbox and used it. Successfully several times now!

Wait, there are people who don't know what a 10mm socket is?

Those plastic pressed covers for radar detectors are a waste of time. What you need is a waterproof reasonably indestructible Pelican case!

You know what we need to do?
Get BigDave on another one of our meetings for a photoshoot and a spread in KiwiRider! We've been doing this for a good while now, I bet it would put some favour on motorcyclists if it shows some ugly mugs having good times eating octopus balls and riding sensibly with some great night shoots!
