nope havn't checked that, i'll try and drop by my friend's place over the weekend and get him to give me a hand with that.

put the bike on a stand today at the mechanics and it was easy to see that the right disc was warped, so i'm gonna need new discs

Is it the disc or the carrier? I've got a warped carrier that is forcing the disc out of alignment on my thou, I was looking at replacing the rotors but have decided in the mean time to get them straightened by a fellow KB'er here in Christchurch.

whats the carrier? to the extent of my knowledge my disc is a floating disc that bolts onto the wheel straight away.

I've got some of these Chinese wave rotors like the ones that are on ebay.

I threw some Fedoro Platinum pads on at the same time.

I don't know about how long they will last - the EBC's I had on before lasted 100,000 kms - but braking is substantially better.

So far, so good.

I reckon most people criticising them haven't used them.

The new brakes are substantially better than the EBCs were.

The 'carrier' is the section between the actual disc and the rim. If your rotors are standard they should be gold in colour (just to help you identify them).

oh right i get what you mean, hmmmm so if its the carrier is bent, instead of the disc being warped than thats an easier fix?

EDIT: would getting it straightened be a permanent fix or would i have to still buy new discs at some stage?

Permanent until they wear out, like any disc. It's more likely that the carrier is bent, you'd have to treat the brakes pretty harsh to make the actual disc warp.
