I feel the need for a non-'cicle related project.
I've got some pipe, well more than is needed for a nice big set of wind chimes.
How do I work out what length to cut it to achieve a specific note?

Making wind chimes is a fine idea, but if you move in next door to me, be prepared to have them inserted on the first windy night,
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
But you'd like 'em in tune wouldn't you?

Great if you live in bumfuck nowhere, love the dull thud of bamboo and copper.
Nothing worse than windchimes at 2am on a windy monday morning, except water dripping into an open plastic recycling bin.
Don't be that kind of evil.![]()
dunno what this 'note' guff is all about, but if you want to tune em for a resonant frequency, is pretty easy, can do with both open ended and single ended pipes.
Get em tuned up so it sounds like a v-twin rumble when the wind blows![]()

Proper five-pipe wind-chimes use the Pentatonic scale.

I love the sound of windchimes... the neighbours sets never kept us awake... although I like the sound of cables twanging against masts in a Marina too...
I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!
